    A man at the centre of an Armed Offenders Squad call-out north of Christchurch will appear in court today


    The 27-year-old was found at Pines Beach yesterday morning, and is charged with breaching his bail conditions.

    The AOS assisted police as a precautionary measure - but the man was taken into custody without incident.

    Witnesses reported more than 10 police cars assembling at the beach area.

    A police spokeswoman says the man had an outstanding warrant.
