More than one point one million dollars worth of stamps and coins were sold at auction yesterday.
Veteran dealer and auctioneer John Mowbray says it's due to weeks of lockdown giving people time to look over their collections.
Among the collectable pieces of New Zealand postal history was a letter naturalist Ernst Dieffenbach sent home to Germany from Wellington in 1840.... that fetched 20-thousand dollars.
