A win for Wellington bus users with drivers now back at work

A win for Wellington bus users with drivers now back at work

Workers went on strike on Friday over pay negotiations with their employer NZ Bus.

The company then took it a step further by issuing a lockout notice to its workers.

However, the Employment Court's issued an interim injunction against the lockout, and ordered it to be lifted.

Greater Wellington Regional Council chair Daran Ponter says it was the right decision.

He says it's extremely welcome news as Wellingtonians had the prospect of this dragging on for weeks.

Daran Ponter says it allows the parties to get back around the negotiating table.
