A Kerikeri photographer has returned home after suffering extensive injuries during a helicopter crash in Canterbury

A Kerikeri photographer has returned home after suffering extensive injuries during a helicopter crash in Canterbury

Rachel Jordan was in a helicopter near Windwhistle , with two newlyweds, when the power cut out and it fell from the sky in June.

All four people on board, including the pilot, sustained serious injuries.

Jordan underwent multiple surgeries and feared she may never walk again.

But after three months in hospital, the 41-year-old walked out of Auckland's spinal unit with the aid of a walking frame.

She says her goal by December, is to walk to the mailbox and back without holding onto the walker.
