    Confidence from a leading coach that Hockey New Zealand's set itself up to cautiously negotiate the post-pandemic world


    Black Sticks mens coach Darren Smith has stepped down after four years, to head up Hockey NZ's high performance programme.

    Former mens coach Shane McLeod - who's back home after coaching Belgium to Olympic gold - says the short Olympic cycle will keep things busy.



    McLeod says he will not apply for the vacant men's coaching role.
