About a dozen emergency services vehicles have rushed to the scene of a serious crash between a car and a truck in Invercargill

About a dozen emergency services vehicles have rushed to the scene of a serious crash between a car and a truck in Invercargill

Police were alerted to the crash on Queens Drive about 4pm, and say initial indications are there are serious injuries.

The road will be closed for some time -- and motorists should expect delays.

An Otago Daily Times reporter at the scene says police, St John Ambulance and Fire and Emergency are there.

Tents have been erected at the crash site and cordons are in place.

A St John spokeswoman says they were only required to assess one person and when asked about the condition of other vehicle occupants, referred comment to police.
