Shock over a shooting 100-metres from a Waikato primary school

Shock over a shooting 100-metres from a Waikato primary school

A gunman fired several rounds at a car today - as his intended victim dropped off children at Taupiri School.

Waikato's District Mayor says the man was moderately hurt by shattered glass, but he's doing okay.

Allan Sanson says the school went into instant lockdown.

He says this may happen in Auckland - but it doesn't in Waikato - and it's a worry someone thinks that's a serious option to solve a dispute.

Sanson says Police are speaking to a man in relation to the incident.
