    The New Zealand Sail GP team is counting the cost of missing a golden opportunity to knock defending champs Australia off their perch


    A ruinous start in this morning's final fleet race in Chicago saw the Kiwis fall behind and watch as Australia went on to win and erase a six point deficit to knock them out of the final podium race.

    Australia went on to beat Canada and Great Britain while New Zealand missed the deciding race for the 11th straight regatta, having to settle for fourth.

    Wing Trimmer Blair Tuke is frustrated.



    New Zealand has climbed two places in the standings to fourth ahead of round three in Plymouth next month.
