Positivity in Canterbury - after wide-scale arrests of Comanchero gang members, in a crack-down on drug dealing

Every patched member of the Christchurch chapter has been arrested as part of Operation Avon, with 21 arrests in total across Auckland and Christchurch.

Millions of dollars of illicit drugs were seized.

Detective Inspector Darrin Thomson says this level of crime doesn't go unnoticed - and people in the community say they're relieved.

Thomson says he thinks it will make a large dent, and intelligence staff tells them the group is responsible for the majority of class A drugs coming into the area.
