    Hurricane Milton moving off Florida east coast but still producing heavy rainfall, hurricane-force winds — as it happened

    The downgraded Hurricane Milton is moving back out into the Atlantic Ocean, but the National Hurricane Centre is still reporting heavy rainfall and damaging winds in east-central Florida.

    Rescue operations have begun in the storm's wake, with people trapped under rubble or stuck in overturned vehicles.
