Lessons aplenty for Auckland City as a gulf in class came to bear in their opening match at football's Club World Cup

The tournament's only amateur side have been thumped 10-nil by Bayern Munich in Cincinnati.

Auckland assistant coach Ivan Vicelich's been asked if they were overawed, or showed too much respect to the 33-time German champions.

Auckland's next match is on Saturday against Portuguese side Benfica.
