Chorus is apologising for yesterday's mobile phone and internet outage in Tasman's Golden Bay, which affected 111 calls

Chorus is apologising for yesterday's mobile phone and internet outage in Tasman's Golden Bay, which affected 111 calls

Services were restored just before 6pm.

The fault was caused by a severed fibre-optic cable in Takaka Hill, at Uruwhenua Bridge on State Highway 60.

Chorus says its field teams mobilised quickly to restore the fault.

It's thanking everyone for their patience, while it worked to restore connections as quickly and safely as possible.

The Telecommunication Forum is asking the Government to prioritise upgrades to the 111 system.
