Lauren Jauregui's Fifth Harmony bandmates have helped her to prepare for Dancing with the Stars

The 29-year-old singer shot to stardom in the chart-topping girl group as a teenager, and Lauren has revealed that two of her bandmates - Normani and Ally Brooke, both of whom previously competed on Dancing with the Stars - have been offering her some advice about the show

The brunette beauty told People: "Normani and Ally both are so sweet, so excited for me."

Asked what advice she's received from her bandmates, Lauren shared: "Normani was just like, 'Have so much fun. Take it a step at a time, and just be as present as possible and enjoy it because it goes by really fast.' And she was not wrong. This is so fast."

Lauren is particularly looking forward to performing a salsa dance, owing to her Cuban heritage.

The singer hopes to make her "ancestors proud" with her performance.

She said: "I'm Cuban, so I'm ready.

"I'm so excited to technically learn salsa because I've been dancing salsa with my parents, my grandparents my entire life at every single family party possible, and just casually on weekends. So to actually have the technique and to get in my body with that, I'm so excited. Going to make the ancestors proud."

Brandon Armstrong, Lauren's professional partner, is confident that the singer will excel on the TV show over the coming weeks.

He said: "I mean, look, she grew up doing this. This is her arena, so I mean there's only so much that I can say, but I am a huge fan."

Lauren, Normani, Ally and Dinah Jane recently reunited at a Jonas Brothers show in Dallas, Texas.

The event marked the first time the group had performed together since Fifth Harmony announced their hiatus back in March 2018.

And Camila Cabello - who left the group in late 2016 - subsequently took to social media to voice her support for the band's surprise reunion.

Camila, 28, replied to a clip of their performance on Instagram with four love heart emojis, showing her support for Lauren, Normani, Dinah and Ally.
