    Fire crews in the South Island had a busy night battling three major house fires


    Crews were called to a well involved fire at Mt Pleasant in Sumner at twenty past ten, and took just over three and a half hours to extinguish the fire.

    The blaze is considered suspicious and investigators will be back at the scene this morning.

    Fire crews were also called to a housefire overnight in Grovetown in Marlborough, and to a house bus fire in Cheviot in North Canterbury.

    Nobody was injured in any of the the fires.
