    One person has died following a boating incident off the coast of Napier today


    Police say they were alerted at 1:40pm after two people failed to return from a morning crayfishing trip.

    Coastguard was deployed and managed to find one person in the water just after 3pm, and transported them back to shore.

    Shortly after a second person was found unresponsive in the water, but was unable to be revived.
