Hopes there will be more support for a grieving mother and her son following a double homicide in East Auckland

Hopes there will be more support for a grieving mother and her son following a double homicide in East Auckland

Police believe the Bucklands Beach fire last week, which took the lives of a 36-year-old father and his 11-year-old son, was deliberately lit.

They say evidence of an accelerant was found during the scene examination.

Maurice Williamson represents Howick on the Auckland Council, and he says that makes the situation even more tragic.
