A successful first day for the gang patch ban

A successful first day for the gang patch ban

A patched member was arrested in a Wairoa supermarket this morning, and a second arrested in an Auckland street.

Elsewhere, two non-patched gang associates were arrested after separate dangerous driving incidents in Auckland.

But Police Minister Mark Mitchell says regardless whether people wear patches or not, clamping down on intimidation is a priority.

He says there's a trail of tears and victims behind the patches members wear out in public, so they're getting rid of them.
