The Hagley Oval ground staff are relieved the severe weather warnings are away from Christchurch

The Hagley Oval ground staff are relieved the severe weather warnings are away from Christchurch

The Garden City has had plenty of rain in the last month, while there was also a deluge of it on Saturday.

While it could lead to concern as to whether the ground and pitch would be ok for the second test between the Black Caps and Sri Lanka, head groundsman Rupert Bool says they're good to go.

The test begins on Boxing Day.

Meanwhile rain has seen play abandoned in today's men's and women's domestic Twenty20 matches between Auckland and Wellington at the Eden Park Outer Oval
