Napier's mayor says it's the law that's wrong - not firearms seller Gun City

Napier's mayor says it's the law that's wrong - not firearms seller Gun City

This as the franchise expands into Hawke's Bay with consent granted for a building in Ahuriri.

Gun City has confirmed it sold four weapons and ammunition to the accused Christchurch mosque gunman.

Mayor Bill Dalton says he thinks only active hunters should have firearms - and that semi-automatic rifles should be banned.

But Dalton says Gun City has every right to open a store in Napier.

He says if people are acting within the law then they should be able to get on with it.
