    Canelo Alvarez becomes unified middleweight boxing champion after beating Daniel Jacobs in Vegas

    Canelo Alvarez has become the unified middleweight world boxing champion after beating American Daniel Jacobs by unanimous decision in Las Vegas


    The Mexican won Jacobs' IBF belt to add to his WBC and WBA world titles.

    Alvarez was tested by a bigger fighter in Jacobs, but did enough to win in a fight that had no knockdowns and no serious fouls.
