One person's been airlifted to Middlemore hospital with critical injuries after a crash in a rural Auckland town

One person's been airlifted to Middlemore hospital with critical injuries after a crash in a rural Auckland town

The crash followed what police describe as a congregation of "car enthusiasts" in Clevedon.

Police arrived shortly before midnight, before following in the direction of one of the drifting vehicles.

A short time later the vehicle was found crashed at the intersection of Monument Road and Tourist Road.

    Two others received minor injuries.
