National's local spokesperson Maureen Pugh has asked the Prime Minister to intervene in negotiations around the Grey Hospital rebuild.
Pugh says the new building was supposed to open in 2018 - but a standoff between the Ministry of Health and Fletcher Construction means there's no opening date in sight.
Greymouth Mayor Tania Gibson says the old hospital hasn't been maintained - and their people deserve better.
She says staff are doing the best they can with what they have - but they need the new facilities and technology as soon as possible.
