    It's best to keep one eye on the weather if you're travelling or camping today


    MetService forecaster Sonja Farmer says strong winds are proceeding a front that's moving its way up the country.

    She says warnings are in place for Southland, Clutha, Wellington, Wairarapa, Tararua and Hawke's Bay south of Hastings.

    She says there's wind watches for Nelson and Marlborough ranges, Canterbury high country and Dunedin and Otago.
