Testing for coronavirus is ramping up to see if it's spreading in the community
19 March 2020
Twenty people have tested positive for Covid-19 in this country, so far.
Director General of Health, Dr Ashley Bloomfield, says there's been a big increase in testing over the last two or three days.
Despite that, the positive tests have only been in those who've returned from overseas.
He says 500 or 600 tests are being done each day.
Bloomfield says the Ministry of Health is looking for cases which don't have an overseas link, which would give an early indication there might be community transmission.
