Pay negotiations between the NRL and its players will linger into next week after the two parties failed to reach an agreement

Pay negotiations between the NRL and its players will linger into next week after the two parties failed to reach an agreement

The players association is expected to accept a pay cut for players of at least 75 percent when it meets with the game's administration on Monday.

Meanwhile the AFL has rubber stamped a pay cut for its players.

Player salaries will be cut by 50 percent for the remainder of the season, and 70 percent as long as the season remains suspended from June onwards.

Gold Coast Chairman Tony Cochrane says it's fantastic that the players have have agreed to do their part.
