A fire emitting toxic smoke in Dunedin has been contained

Residents living near the fire in Burnside had been urged to keep their doors and windows closed this morning, after crews became concerned at how toxic the smoke was.

But Fire and Emergency says the fire -- which broke out on Saturday -- is now under control.

It says there is no longer any danger to residents living nearby.
