    Police have named the man killed in West Auckland earlier this week


    Coubin Arerua Tamatoa-Makaea died at a Whenuapai property early Wednesday morning.

    Emergency services were called at about 2am to a Trig Road Address, where the 31-year-old required medical attention.

    Just five-and-a-half hours later, Police launched a homicide investigation.

    Police expect to finish their scene examination later today.
