    Wellington Police are investigating after a booze-fuelled fight led to an apparent stabbing


    At about 3.30 this morning police were called to a mass brawl at the intersection of Courtenay Place and Taranaki Street.

    Within an hour, police received more reports of disorder in the block between Taranaki and Tory Streets.

    Nine people were arrested and one person was seriously injured.

    A 19-year-old man has been charged with common assault and will appear at the District Court in Wellington on Monday.

    Most of those arrested have been released without charge,
