    A 33-year-old man who allegedly broke into an Auckland managed isolation facility has been named


    Jesse Courtney Welsh faces charges of failing to comply with a Covid-19 order and unlawfully being in an enclosed area at the Crown Plaza on Albert Street.

    He allegedly forced his way through a fence into the facility last Friday and spoke with a returnee - he was arrested in Whangarei the next morning.

    Welsh has been remanded in custody after his hearing by telephone at the District Court in Whangarei today.

    He will appear at the District Court in person on Wednesday.
