Jury trials currently in progress in Auckland have been suspended until Monday

Jury trials currently in progress in Auckland have been suspended until Monday

Jurors who are summonsed to attend, or who are serving on trials in the High Court, Auckland District Court and Manukau District Court are excused from attending court for the rest of the week.

Jurors in those courts will be contacted by registries about attendance next week.

Chief Justice Helen Winkelmann has also announced a 24-hour suspension of jury trials throughout the rest of the country to allow time for the courts to re-establish public safety measures.

Jurors summonsed to attend or currently serving on trials will be contacted by registries today, to advise them about the rest of the week.
