The police crackdown on speeding is being labelled petty and vindictive

The police crackdown on speeding is being labelled petty and vindictive

A new zero tolerance policy is in place, and motorists who travel just a kilometre over the speed limit can be fined.

Previously this hard stance was only seen on public holidays.

Taxpayers' Union Spokesperson Jordan Williams says it's a revenue-grab - and effectively a tax.

He says they're putting every ounce of pressure on Police Minister Stuart Nash to override it and give motorists a break.
