    The Remutaka Hill Road has reopened but motorists are being asked to take extra care due to gale force winds


    State Highway 2 between Upper Hutt and Featherston was closed for around half an hour this morning, due to wind gusts reaching more than 140 kilometres per hour.

    The NZTA says a strong wind warning remains in place.
