A man will appear in the Manukau District Court today charged in relation to assault - after a woman died in Manurewa yesterday

Police were called to a Smedley Street address at 20 past three in the morning... but the woman died at the scene.

A 45-year-old man was arrested nearby on Hobman Place.

A post-mortem will be completed today and police haven't ruled out laying more charges.
