Wiwini Himi Hakaraia was cleared of four charges today at the High Court in Auckland, but pleaded guilty to charges of possessing a Class A drug.
Hakaraia and four others were the subject of a long running covert Police operation, which resulted in searches of Hakaraia's home last year.
They found 27.6 grams of cocaine in a shoe, and 18.2 grams of powder containing cocaine and methamphetamine.
Hakaraia's defence lawyer Paul Wicks pointed to Hakaraia's good character and community endeavours.
Justice Graham Lang told Hakaraia he was fortunate to receive only a fine, as the amounts would usually call for prison or a community based sentence.
