    Scott Dixon's been denied the chance to clinch his sixth IndyCar title


    For now at least.

    The Kiwi driver's finished ninth in the first of two races at the penultimate event at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, with his nearest rival, series defending champion Josef Newgarden, claiming the win.

    It sees the Team Penske driver close the gap in the overall standings to 40 points.



    Race two is tomorrow.
