Iwan Rheon is to appear in a real-life video game

The 'Game of Thrones' actor will have his every move controlled via smartphone and laptop users as he attempts to navigate dark corridors and haunted prison cells in order to avoid certain doom by escaping The Balthazoid in ‘Screamfest 4: The Kraken’s Revenge’

Iwan - who is best known for playing Ramsay Bolton on 'Game of Thrones' - said: “I’m used to playing a character that did all the controlling but now the tables are turned. I’ll be at the mercy of people controlling my every move online from anywhere in the country, sending me from room to room in a particularly creepy location while I’m hunted by a monster. I do wonder how many Kraken fans will send me to my doom and how many will save me!”

The real-life game - which has been made by 'Grant Theft Auto IV' and 'Red Dead Redemption' creator John Zyrhellen - for Kraken Rum and Iwan will be participating in slots on 28 October, though the game will run over consecutive evenings from 28- 30 October.

And the creator has promised it will be the most "terrifying and warped" experience of 2020 so far.

John said: "The brief for Kraken Screamfest was simple: come up with a concept more terrifying and warped than anything 2020 has to offer. So, I delved deep into our primal fears - being hunted, tight spaces, dark shadows, hate-filled creatures - and I’m pretty confident I’ll deliver one of the most terrifying experiences to be seen in UK homes this year

"On a personal note, I’m extremely honoured to pick up the baton where Neil Marshall left off, so rest assured Kraken fans, I will do your Mighty Beast proud!”

To play ‘Screamfest 4: The Kraken’s Revenge’, visit The Mighty Kraken’s online hub, 'The League of Darkness', to get a ticket.

Iwan will be ‘playable’ from 4pm – 6pm on October 28 and each player will get 10 minutes to remotely control the actor’s every action in the innovative horror experience.

In return for their £10 ticket, users will also receive The Beast’s bespoke game-guide, ingredients and just enough Kraken Rum to mix it altogether to create an exclusive Halloween cocktail.
