Enjoy the warm long weekend weather while it lasts

A northwesterly flow is moving across the country and will see southern places like Timaru hit 27 degrees tomorrow.

But MetService meteorologist Lewis Ferris says a cold front is due to bring cooler temperatures by Monday.

He says places such as Timaru will see drop a ten to 15 degree drop.

In the North Island, lingering moisture means there's going to be plenty of showers this afternoon.

Ferris says Blenheim is the place to be this weekend, with warm conditions and minimal wind and cloud.
