A former Canterbury DHB employee has been sentenced to three years in prison

A former Canterbury DHB employee has been sentenced to three years in prison

The woman stole more than a million dollars between 2013 and 2018.

The ex-admin worker, in her early 50s, admitted to the Serious Fraud Office last year that she'd diverted patient cash into her personal bank account.

The court heard yesterday the money was spent on online gambling, and a lavish lifestyle.

That included having cosmetic surgery in Thailand, giving presents to her family, and buying a jet ski.

She has been granted interim name suppression.
