Police will now align with many European counterparts - in using Skoda for frontline police cars

They were forced to change suppliers after General Motors pulled Holden out of Australasia.

The first Skoda Superbs are expected to be patrolling roads as early as next April next year, with a choice of two-wheel drive and four-by-four station wagons.

Commissioner Andrew Coster says they will significantly reduce their fleet's carbon footprint.
