The Otago Daily Times reports Patariki Paora Isaacs, 34, raced through a stop-sign controlled intersection at 78 kilometres an hour - and struck another vehicle.
Driver Lisa Ferris was left with serious head injuries, after her vehicle became airborne and flipped through the air.
In the Queenstown District Court today, Judge Alison McLeod accepted Isaacs' guilty pleas and remanded him on bail ahead of sentencing in March.
