    Holiday traffic snarl-ups are expected today, with the roads starting to get busy from mid-morning


    The Transport Agency picks State Highway One between Tirau and Karapiro will be heaviest from 9.30 till 1.

    The stretch between Peka Peka and Otaki will be busy all day, especially from 10.

    Anyone heading north out of Christchurch on State Highway One can expect queues from about 10.30.
