Slips and flooding brought on by a deluge of rain over the weekend have closed several roads

Slips and flooding brought on by a deluge of rain over the weekend have closed several roads

The New Zealand Transport Agency warns sections of State Highway Two between Bay of Plenty and Gisborne are blocked.

In the South Island, State Highway 83 between Aviemore and Otematata remains shut, and is unlikely to open until next weekend.

It's also closed between Kurow and Ikawai.

State Highway 87 is blocked off between Kyeburn and Outram, as well as State Highway 90, between Tapanui and Waikoikoi.

Flooding has caused damage in Dunedin - but the city council says the stormwater and transport network is performing well.
