Tom Blundell hopes he's adding to the top order selection logjam for New Zealand's T20 selectors with a dominant display during Wellington's seven-wicket Super Smash victory over Canterbury at the Basin Reserve

Tom Blundell hopes he's adding to the top order selection logjam for New Zealand's T20 selectors with a dominant display during Wellington's seven-wicket Super Smash victory over Canterbury at the Basin Reserve

He's struck an unbeaten 62 off 42 balls to help the Firebirds reach their 154-run target with two balls left.

Blundell last played a T20 international in February 2018 but hopes a recall remains an option.

The Firebirds have an eight-point, two-win buffer atop the men's ladder with two rounds to play - their women's counterparts, the Blaze, also lead the table despite yesterday's loss to the Magicians.
