    A pod of whales stranded off a Farewell Spit beach -- are free swimming offshore


    Rescuers have re-floated many of the 28 whales which became stranded -- but at the last count, 19 of the long-finned pilot whales have died.

    Doc and Project Jonah are monitoring the whales to ensure they don't strand again.
