A potentially groundbreaking new approach in the fight against the Covid-19

A potentially groundbreaking new approach in the fight against the Covid-19

A University of Otago expert in respiratory medicines believes treating the virus with inhaled drugs will be key to beating the disease.

Professor Shyamal Das is developing a "powder inhaler" which will directly attack the lungs with anti-Covid drugs.

He says this is about targeting the area where the virus is mostly present.

Das says an inhaled medication is also able to be delivered in higher doses.
