A Taupo doctor believes the key to beating diabetes is simple

A damning new report states type two diabetes could cost us 3.5 billion dollars a year by 2040, up from the current cost of 2.1 billion.

If things don't change, there could be about 430-thousand Kiwis with the chronic condition by then.

Doctor Glen Davies has reversed more than a hundred type two diabetes cases in the last three years, and says the answer is a low-carb keto diet.

He says the problem isn't the fats we eat, it's the fats we make from excess carbohydrates and sugar.
