Two people have been sent to prison for a fatal attack in which a man was stabbed in the chest, chased down the street, and stomped on

Davis Colin Phillips died in Taita in January last year, after Damelza Hohipa stabbed him while he was fighting with her partner.

Her partner, Toetu Saili, then chased Phillips down the street and stomped on his head multiple times as he lay dying on the ground.

The pair pleaded guilty to manslaughter and injuring with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

The Pair have been sentenced at the High Court in Wellington today - Hohipa to three years and four months' jail , and Saili to two years and three months.
