A rural health expert hopes remote communities won't get lost in the major DHB shake-up

A rural health expert hopes remote communities won't get lost in the major DHB shake-up

Otago University senior research fellow Dr Fiona Doolan-Noble says farming and forestry are risky industries, and need acute care.

She says rural populations are older and sicker than cities, yet access to health services is more difficult.
