???1;Local Government is supporting the new evaluation

An independent review into the future of councils has been launched and will be monitored by a panel of ex-councillors.

It'll focus on how local democracy needs to evolve over the next 30 years.

President Stuart Crosby says they haven't had an indepth review since the 90's.

He says New Zealand has changed since then so it's appropriate to have a re-look at things.
