A man who sparked a major armed police call-out and manhunt across Christchurch has appeared in court on a raft of violence, firearms and drugs charges

Brandon Jarden was arrested last night, after an alleged firearms incident in the suburb of Burnside.
Schools and businesses were told to lock down as armed police tried to locate him.
Jarden has been remanded in custody until May 19.
The charges include threatening to kill, and unlawful possession of a firearm.
